Scandinavian tour operator traffic increase after white label SEO

Scandinavian Tour Operator: Dramatic Organic Growth in a Research-Driven Niche

Client: Scandinavian tour operator (anonymous)  |  Services: Content, technical SEO, link building  |  Result: From almost no organic traffic to 460 visits a month on average, and 333 top-10 keywords at peak

A tour operator running trips through the Scandinavian countries partnered with Technical Content Links in February 2024. In this niche, people research heavily before they book, so the business needed to be visible long before the moment of purchase.

At a glance

  • Industry: Travel and tourism, guided tours
  • Engagement: White label SEO, from February 2024
  • Starting point (February 2024): almost no organic traffic, and 10 keywords in Google’s top 10
  • Results: average organic traffic of 460 visits a month in 2026, peaking at 747 in February 2026; keywords in the top 10 peaked at 333

The challenge

A Scandinavian tour is a high-consideration purchase. Travellers compare destinations, routes, seasons and operators over weeks or months before booking. The site had little content for those research-stage searches, orphaned pages with no internal links pointing to them, and technical issues with its sitemaps and URLs.

Our approach

Onboarding and strategy. Keyword research and mapping, a full manual technical audit, a content audit and a documented strategy.

The big-ticket items in the first months:

  • Fixing the robots.txt sitemap reference, removing redundant XML sitemaps and adding an HTML sitemap
  • 301 redirect mapping, descriptive URL updates and broken internal link fixes
  • Keyword research to bring orphaned pages back into the site structure
  • A schema audit, noindex directives where needed, and a Search Console audit
  • New homepage content, then destination and activity pages such as the Northern Lights, cruises, Lapland, Norway and Denmark

Then consistency. Every month the campaign added guest post links, directory and social profile links, and new destination content.

The results

From almost no organic traffic when the work began, average monthly organic traffic grew to 78 visits in 2024, 278 in 2025 and 460 in 2026, with a peak of 747 in February 2026. Keywords ranking in Google’s top 10 grew from 10 to a peak of 333 in April 2026, including 231 in the top five.

What this means for agencies

Research-heavy categories like travel, education and high-ticket services reward agencies that think beyond the booking page. Destination content that answers early questions, backed by real authority, builds the visibility that turns into enquiries later. We deliver that content and link building white label, under your brand.
