A geotechnical, environmental and materials testing consultancy with offices across Australia first brought Technical Content Links in to support a website migration in November 2023. The ongoing SEO campaign began in March 2024 and is still running.

At a glance

  • Industry: B2B engineering and environmental consulting
  • Engagement: Migration support from November 2023; white label SEO from March 2024
  • Starting point (March 2024): about 697 organic visits a month and 380 keywords in Google’s top 10
  • Results: 3,339 top-10 keywords at peak (June 2026), 2,449 of them in the top five; average organic traffic of 2,649 visits a month in 2026, peaking at 4,139

The challenge

Website migrations are one of the riskiest moments for organic search. The consultancy’s new site launched in late 2023, and over the following months its traffic and rankings sat well below where they had been. It needed the new site to recover, and then to win visibility for the highly technical services its clients search for.

Our approach

Migration support. Pre-migration and post-migration audits to protect the site’s existing visibility through the move.

Onboarding and strategy. A technical audit, keyword research and mapping, and an SEO and content strategy.

The big-ticket items in the first months:

  • A Search Console audit with fixes implemented
  • New homepage content, FAQ research, and FAQ content for service pages such as materials testing, environmental and rock mechanics
  • New and expanded content for core services including geotechnical, groundwater and geophysics
  • Internal link optimisation, a schema audit and a new HTML sitemap
  • Google Business Profile optimisation across the firm’s office locations, listing every service offered

Then consistency. Every month the campaign added guest post links to the homepage and key service pages, alongside new service and FAQ content, with content strategy reviews and six-monthly campaign reviews.

The results

  • Rankings: keywords in Google’s top 10 grew from 380 when the campaign began to a peak of 3,339 in June 2026, almost nine times more and well above the site’s pre-migration level. Keywords in the top five grew from 182 to 2,449.
  • Traffic: average organic traffic rose from 1,180 visits a month in 2024 to 1,706 in 2025 and 2,649 in 2026, with a peak of 4,139.

What this means for agencies

If a client is planning a website rebuild, SEO support before and after launch protects what they already have, and a structured campaign afterwards turns the new site into a growth asset. We handle both white label.
